...will undoubtedly lead Shero to look for a backup who would be capable of taking over as the #1 if Fleury falters.
This will perk up the rumors of Ilya Bryzgalov heading to Pittsburgh - Eklund
These 2 things don't really go together, "Bryzgalov" and "capable." Then again, MAF has been so outstanding in the playoffs the last 2 seasons...

is it too cold in Pittsburgh for bryzgalov? |
|

Bryz deserves another chance away from the goalie graveyard that is philly...the pens though, not that great defensively |

Johan Hedberg is available isn't he? or did the NYR sign him?
He'd be capable of shouldering starting minutes (like when Brodeur went down) and is way less of a head case then Bryz! |

Pens will be better defensively this year. They hired d-minded Jacques Martin as an assistant coach, and brought in one of the better stay at home defensemen in Rob Scuderi. |

What's the fun in that? Imagine watching the Pens implode with Bryzgalov? |

I really don't think this rumor has any validity at this point in the season. It is WAY too early. Plus, Fleury has proven himself to be a very capable goaltender in the regular season. It has been reported that Zatkoff is going to get his chance to prove himself on the NHL level. I think, if anything, when it gets closer to the trade deadline, and the post season, you will see Pittsburgh's interest in a goalie ramp up. I think you might see Shero make a play for Ryan Miller or another starter as an upgrade to Zatkoff and Post Season Fleury. |

Jonas Hiller for Brooks Orpik. The Ducks will probably have to take back more salary because the Pens are against the cap. |

What, you want them to sign Bryzgalov???
Penguins don't have the cap space to add Miller. Would be cool to see him in a Pens sweater, but it's not happening. |

Poulin and De Haan for Miller? Maybe at the trade deadline? |
|
|
|
Halak or Elliot from St. Louis...(for the right price). St Louis is dying to bring up their young stug goalie to back-up who they leave behind. |

I wouldn't do that! Poulin has the potential to be our next DiPietro! |

Forgot about that. I was just talking with a buddy on lunch who said the only way we trade Miller is if a good team who really believes they have to win a cup now loses their top goalie. And that doesn't happen much. |

Fleury is so far from his all-star days that Vokoun being out is seen as a real crisis. That said, a full season of Crosby and Malkin will guarantee this team a top 3 finish. |

He's so far been pretty consistent in the regular season. I predict he'll put up decent numbers, with Pitts offense enough to take their division. |
